LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE – March 18, 2024
A parade to commemorate the start of the little league season. Little league has taught teamwork, athleticism, and leadership to millions of children. With a core mission of the power of youth baseball and softball to teach life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities.
BEEF STEW & PIE – March 24, 2024
A shindig that celebrates home cooking by the boys of the club. This fundraising event supports the Community Trust Fund that provides scholarships for Rio Linda High School Students, sponsorships for Little League, Kindles for the Third Grade Reading Program and many other community projects.
RUBBER DUCKY RACE – April 28, 2024
A fun and crazy race that you can use as a fundraiser for your organization. 350+ ducks are launched from the bridge that goes over Dry Creek on Elkhorn Boulevard and they swim their little legs off until they reach Hayer Park. There are cash prizes for 1st. 2nd, & 3rd place and a fabulous gift basket for the Lame Duck (The duck that crosses the finish line 30 minutes after the 1st place duck). Come join us for the fun.
May 2024 - SCHOLARSHIPS - RLHS
​Every year the Rio Linda Lions Club gives 2-4 scholarships out to young men and women from Rio Linda High School. The applicant must have participated in community service, be going to a 2-year college or technical school, have a 2.5 GPA or above and good attendance.
OKTOBERFEST - October 5, 2024
Celebrating Cars, Boats, and Beer with a German/Pirate theme. What could be more fun than a good old fashioned Oktoberfest type of event. Bring your ear plugs for the noon cackle fest. The cars won in 2021 and the boats in 2022. Who will win in 2023? There are fabulous venders that meet the needs of all and an amazing Oktoberfest themed food booth that tastes scrumptious.
PRE-THANKSGIVING DINNER – November 21, 2024
An advantage of being a part of something as great as the Lions Club of Rio Linda is the private events. On the Thursday before Thanksgiving, Lions and their families are welcomed into the Bolsover home to celebrate togetherness and kick off the upcoming holiday season.
RUBY'S BASKETS
​for 60+ years Ruby and the Rio Linda Lions have been making sure that families in need have a holiday meal and some toys. It all started with Ruby Wilson began putting Christmas Baskets together for needy families and needed a little help.

SPEECH CONTEST - January 2025
​Now in its 83rd year, the Student Speakers Contest is open to all California high school students. The purpose is to encourage and support development of public speaking as a critically important life skill. The Lions of California will announce the topic in late 2023.
BUNCO FOR BOOKS February 2025
An exciting event of no-strategy silliness with cash prizes. The goal of this event is to earn enough money to purchase a reading level appropriate book for each of the 240 3-graders in our community. The book give away is partnered with the 3rd Grade Reading Challenge to promote learning and growth of our youth.
