And Then There Was One - An interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. We murdered someone (Well, not really). We hosted a murder mystery chaired by Tabitha Worth with the Rio Linda Community Theater Group lead by Kris McCandless.
The Murder Weapon - Lion Douglas Bolsover donated the weapon for the murder mystery to be raffled off at the murder mystery. It was a Ruger 10/22 and it was won by Rio Linda resident George Harsh, the signifigant other to Lion Elinor Anklin.
Scholarships - We gave away 2 Rio Linda Lions Club Scholarship Certificate of $500 to recipients that participate in community service; have a 2.5 GPA or higher and plan to attend a Junior College or Trade School. Congratulations:
Aquaya Agnese Bennet —In recognition of her valuable contribution to our community by participating in Glass Slipper, an organization for girls in foster care.
Phillip Shevchenko —In recognition of his valuable contribution to our community by supporting by participating in the California Highway Patrol Explorer Program.
The Rio Linda Little League Parade - was a blast this year. Do you know that the Rio Linda Lions Club sponsors this event every year? Lion President Shelli road in the back of a 1956 Ford F150 driven by local resident Dan Wathor.
3rd Grade Reading Challenge - We gave away a Kindle to each of the Rio Linda 3rd grade classes. The students received a chance slip for each reading level appropriate book they read and received over 80% on the comprehension test. Our 3rd Graders read over 500 Books. Their top book choices were: Dogzilla, Shiloh, Amelia Bedelia, Carrots Don’t Talk, If You Give a Moose A Cookie, The Cat in the Hat, Captain Underpants & Black Lagoon

The Welcome to Rio Linda Sign - Our community is the best and we want to welcome everyone to see how wonderful we are. Laury, Ed, Larry and the entire Rio Linda Lions Club installed the Welcome to Rio Linda Sign. Dedication TBD
We pay for our efforts with fundraisers and this is the biggest one we have each year. Please come to our annual steak feed on the lake. We have home made salads, beans, corn on the cob. We have entertainment, play corny picnic games and have a lot of fun.
