Current Events: Speaker Contest We will be having our annual local Speaker Contest February 18, 2009. The topic is “Universal Health Care—How will it Affect Us?” The Rio Linda Lion’s Club offers people to enjoy themselves while giving back to the community. Some of the charitable activities we are involved in include:
· Eye care for Rio Linda/Elverta students · High School Senior Scholarships · Student Speaker Contests & Flag Day · White Cain Day and the Glaucoma Van · Rio Linda/Elverta Sports Team Sponsorships
We have a blast putting on fundraisers such as the demolition derby, crab feeds, Buck’s Stew, and murder mystery dinner theaters to raise money to support community efforts such as:
· Kid’s ID · Rio Linda/Elverta Performing Arts · Ruby’s Christmas Baskets · Rio Linda Little League Parade · Community Health Fairs · City of Hope · Local community and educational organizations
We would like to welcome you to come visit us on the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Thursday of the month at 7:00pm at the:
